Salary £5.46 per hour, £207.48 per week Hours Of Work 38 hours a week, Mon to Thur 7:45am - 4:30pm, Fri 7:45am - 12:45pm
Position Type Apprentice Age Range 16+
Qualification Level 2 Apprenticeship in Performing Manufacturing Operations plus Functional Skills if required.

Vacancy Description

This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking for an Manufacturing Apprenticeship in one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of laboratory furniture, fume cupboards, fans, extraction systems and fume scrubbers. The factory is fully equipped with some of the most modern machinery and plant, ensuring the products are engineered and manufactured to the highest standard.  A wide range of manufacturing processes are carried out which means an Apprentice has the opportunity to gain an impressive array of skills and experiences.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Operating CNC Beam Saws, Edgebanders, CNC Machining Centres, CNC Routers
  • Powder coating
  • Steel fabrication
  • Plastic fabrication
  • Fan assembly and testing
  • Furniture assembly
  • Fume cupboard assembly
  • On-site installation of products 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Minimum of 3 GCSE's at C/4 or above in English, Mathematics (or equivalent) and any other related subjects 

Preferred Skills

Ideally, the successful candidate will have some knowledge or interest in manufacturing

Personal Qualities

Must be able to get to work reliably in Little Hulton which is on a main bus route from Bolton/Manchester 

Future Prospects

Potential to progress within the company. The successful candidate will complete a 12 month Level 2 Apprenticeship in Performing Manufacturing Operations, followed by continuing in-house training for a further 3 years
