Employer Description A state of the art day nursery with fantastic outdoor facilities run by highly qualified staff providing outstanding childcare for children aged between 3 months and 5 years old.
Salary £3.75 per hour £150 per week Hours Of Work 40 Mon to Fri, between 7:30am & 6:00pm.

Qualification Children and Young People’s Workforce Level 2 qualification plus Functional Skills if applicable This is a work-based qualification although some College attendance may be required for Functional Skills.

Vacancy Description

We are looking for an Apprentice Nursery Practitioner to work in our busy nursery with the aim of becoming a qualified member of staff.  Do you have a passion to care for children and want to make a difference in the workplace?  We have over 21 years’ experience training and developing staff, ensuring progress by working together.  You will make a difference every day to the children.  You will be providing an imaginative and creative programme of activities in a fun and safe environment.

Role and Responsibilities

To work with children from 3 months to 5 years old in a large team, meeting individual needs of children. You will be expected to provide a safe and stimulating environment to support children’s learning in all areas of development adhering to the early year’s curriculum.  This will include:

  • Ensuring safety of children at all times
  • Supervising outdoor play
  • Supporting development through play
  • Preparing and feeding children
  • Keeping the nursery clean
  • Dealing with parents and any paperwork that needs completing
  • You will be supported throughout your training and treated as a valuable member of staff 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Ideally GCSE grades A–C/4-9 in Maths and English required.

Preferred Skills

  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to take on board feedback and work on own initiative
  • Ability to work in a team to meet the varying needs of children

Personal Qualities

You must be hard working, committed, able to work flexible shift patterns and willing to learn, taking on feedback from mentors.  You must be caring with good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with children between the ages of 3 months and 5 years old.  You will need to provide the employer with two references and pass a DBS check.
