Salary £5.00 per hour £187.50 per week Hours Of Work 37.5 hours per week Mon - Thurs 8.30am - 5.00pm, Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm (start & finish times flexible)
Position Type Apprenticeship Age Range 16+
Qualification AAT Level 2 + Functioal Skills if required. College attendance is required for this course on a day release basis during term time. On some occasions other days may be needed to complete the course. College attendance may also be required for Functional Skills if applicable.

Vacancy Description

Working within a small successful company we are looking for an AAT Level 2 Apprentice to join our team.


Role and Responsibilities

  1. Prepare wages for clients (after initial training)
  2. Control & document all systems within the practice using ‘System Maintenance’
  1.    Assist with internal accounts processes
  2.    Assist in collection of debts
  1. Create a welcoming and professional atmosphere for all visitors
  2. Direct internal and external enquiries, by telephone, face to face and e-mail, to the appropriate person
  3. Ensure all filing/archiving is maintained to required standards
  4. Use a variety of software packages, such as Iris Automail, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel etc. to produce correspondence, documents and spreadsheets on behalf of Directors & Managers
  5. To ensure documents are produced accurately and in the correct format
  6. Provide general admin support as required; e.g. photocopying
  7. Responsible for outgoing and incoming post & deliveries
  8. Maintenance of all office equipment
  9. Liaise with external suppliers as necessary
  10. Promote the business positively at every opportunity
  11. Manage Directors diaries and ensure appointments are made
  1.    Company mailings
  2. Control & maintain company group email distributions to clients & contacts
  3. Create and maintain databases as necessary
  4. Maintain of website on monthly basis
  5. Work with current systems to ensure regular contact with clients / prospects
  6. Making new client/prospect appointments


This role profile is not exhaustive; it will be subject to periodic review and may be amended to meet the changing needs of the business. The post holder will be expected to participate in this process and the company would aim to reach agreement to the changes.


Qualifications and Education Requirements

Minimum GCSE grade C/4+ in English & Maths essential
