Do you enjoy working with children and want to progress with it further? An apprentice Playworker is required to earn and learn at The Phoenix Centre situated in St Mary’s Park in Prestwich. They provide a high standard of training and experience in a variety of settings i.e. Before and After-school club, Holiday Club & Youth Club.
Role and Responsibilities
You will be trained to a high standard in all duties involving keeping the children safe and enhancing their learning and play within the Before and After-school club and Youth Club.
Help children and young people to develop through play and youth work
Take part in play activities with the children and young people
Build positive relationships with children and young people
Promote positive behaviour and discourage unwanted actions
Maintain child safety
Take part in indoor/outdoor activities
Help to maintain a healthy balanced diet for the children and young people
To carry out cleaning duties as required
To liaise with parents and carers
To ensure all safeguarding procedures are followed
Undertake training as appropriate to meet any changes in standards or legal requirements
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Preferable that you have GCSE grades A-C in Maths and English (or equivalent) but not essential
You will be required to work shifts between 8.00am and 9.00pm so you must be flexible with your working hours.
You will also have to provide the employer with two references and pass a DBS check
This vacancy is just for a contract to do your apprenticeship (approx. 12-18 months). There may be progression onto a Level 3 or a permanent contract, but at the moment the employer cannot guarantee progression
