Employer Description Established in August 1990 we are a warm friendly day nursery in a large detached house with a homely environment on the Bury/Rochdale border. We cater for children aged 3 months to 5 years and are committed to encouraging children's confidence and independence to prepare them for school.
Salary £3.70 an hour, £111.00 per week Hours Of Work Minimum 30 hours a week, shifts between 8:30am - 5:30pm
Position Type Apprentice Age Range 16+
Qualification Level 2 or Level 3 in Children and Young People’s Workforce plus Functional Skills if required. This is a work-based qualification although some college attendance may be required for Functional Skills.

This is a fantastic opportunity within a well-established Nursery on the Bury/Rochdale border for someone looking to get into the childcare industry. You will be working in the nursery alongside a professional and experienced team, learning a range of skills to develop a career working in a Children and Young People’s setting.

Role and Responsibilities

Enjoy working with children and want to progress with it further? An Apprentice Nursery Nurse is required to earn and learn in an excellent setting which provides a high standard of training/experience. You will be working in the day care centre dealing with a variety of children, from babies and toddlers to 3 and 4 year olds.  You will be trained to a high standard in all duties required of you involving keeping the children safe and enhancing their learning/play.  You will be supported throughout your training and treated as a valuable member of staff. 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

GCSE grade A-C/4+ in Maths & English (or equivalent) preferred for Level 2

GCSE grade A-C/4+ in Maths & English (or equivalent) essential for Level 3 plus you must already hold Level 2 Childcare

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to empathise with children
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work in a team

Personal Qualities 

You will have to provide the employer with two references and pass a DBS check. 

Future Prospects

As long as you complete your Apprenticeship to a high standard and you are reliable and hardworking, Level 2 Apprentices may be offered progression onto a Level 3 qualification.
