Employer Description We are based in Bury and have been involved in the design and manufacture of skips and containers since 1973. The sales team, Gary and Chelsea, pride themselves on personally attending to all queries and orders to ensure that all our customers receive the best possible service. Our aim is to provide quality skips and containers to the waste, recycling and reclamation industry to ensure a greener, brighter and cleaner outlook which will contribute towards the environmental investment for future generations. We have two Yorkshire Terriers who join us every day to keep guard!
Salary £4.00 per hour, £160.00 per week to start - which will increase during the first year of the Apprenticeship Hours Of Work Monday – Friday 8.30 am – 4.30 pm (30 minutes paid lunch break)

Vacancy Description

A great opportunity for somebody wishing to start a career in Business Administration.   This is a varied role where you will learn all aspects of office procedures including advertising on Social Media sites.

 

Role and Responsibilities

Telephone Use

·         Answering the telephone in an efficient, helpful and pleasant manner

·         Recording telephone messages accurately and passing the telephone and other messages to the relevant

   person

Customer Support

·         Welcoming visitors into the Office

·         Ensuring visitors complete the appropriate signing in procedures

Computer Literacy

·         Ability to use Microsoft office to produce documents and letters by Microsoft Word and Excel

·         To send, receive and organise emails using Microsoft Outlook

·         To make use of Outlook Calendar to organise appointments and visits

Office Tasks

·         Using the photocopier for copying information and scanning documents

·         Use of laminator and binding machine for presentation of information

·         Filing information into appropriate folders

Team Meetings

·         Assisting with the organisation of dates for staff meetings, collecting agenda items and

producing the meeting agenda

·         Contribute to the preparation of the room before the team meeting begins. Take minutes with

pertinent points and action points

·         Produce minutes and distribute to appropriate staff members

Training Events

·         Assist with pre course documentation

·         Provide on the day course documentation (attendance sheet; info packs etc)

 

Social Media Advertising

·         Review existing Social Media site

·         Identify gaps in existing Social Media advertising opportunities and provide a plan for improvement.

·         Take responsibility for Social Media advertising on behalf of the Company

Health & Safety

·         To become familiar with and work to, the Company’s Health and Safety Management system

·         To understand employee responsibilities under the Company’s Health and Safety Management System

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Minimum Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths (GCSE grades A-D / 3+)

 

Preferred Skills

·         Experience of IT packages

·         Accuracy of written and verbal communication

·         Competent use of Social Media sites

·         Able to use own initiative

·         Excellent time keeping

·         Well organised

·         Conscientious

 

Future Prospects

Subject to a successful Apprenticeship you may be employed by the organisation. Ideally we would like our Apprentice to become a valued member of the team.
