BCAflet Apprentice Dental Nurse
Employer Description We are a long established dental practice in Heywood situated on the main high street opposite a bus stop and very close to adjacent parking. We provide all aspects of general dentistry and we refer patients to specialist services where necessary.
Salary £ 175.00 per week Hours Of Work 35 hours with one in 4 weeks 40 hours. 9am-5pm Monday - Friday with one Saturday in 4 weeks 9am-6pm
Position Type Apprenticeship Age Range 16+
Qualification Dental Nursing Level 3 Standard plus Functional Skills if required. This is a work-based qualification with college attendance one evening per week. Some college attendance may also be required for Functional Skills

Vacancy Description

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic person to work as an Apprentice in a key dental practice based in Heywood Lancashire. The Apprentice will play an important team role in the day-to-day planning, organisation and smooth running of the practice, and to ensure all the practices objectives are met.


Role and Responsibilities

You will be completing a wide range of duties involved with assisting the Dentist in the care of customers. This will include:

·         Chairside assistance – passing instruments to the Dentist

·         Updating patient records as instructed by the Dentist

·         Team work

·         Have the ability to use your own initiative

·         Set up and prepare the surgery

·         High standards of cleanliness and infection control

·         Keeping patient information confidential

·         Follow all workplace policies and procedures

·         You will also be required to perform a receptionist service to customers, book appointments and welcome customers


Qualifications and Education Requirements

Preferable if you have GCSE A-Cs/4+ in maths and English (or equivalent) but not essential

·         Some experience would be preferred

Future Prospects

This vacancy is for a contract to do your apprenticeship (approx. 14-18 months). If you complete the apprenticeship successfully and reach key milestones then there will be the opportunity to progress onto a permanent contract.
