Salary £4.00 per hour, £150.00 per week Hours Of Work 37.5 8am – 4pm Monday – Friday (30 minutes lunch)
Position Type Apprenticeship Age Range 16+
Qualification Intermediate Apprenticeship Level 2 in ICT Professional Competence, Web, Software and Telecoms plus Functional Skills if required

Vacancy Description

We are a family run, independent foodservice wholesaler that has been supplying customers for over 55 years. From our base in Bury, we deliver quality chilled and ambient food and drink across the North of England. You would be working in our small but busy office and be reporting directly to our Project and Systems Manager who will provide ongoing support and training. We are looking for an individual with a “can-do-attitude” who can thrive in a busy environment, where every day can be different.

 

Role and Responsibilities

  • First line support answering I.T. helpdesk calls and responding to email support requests from on site and home-based staff
  • Liaise with our external IT support providers to provide hardware and software support for our desktops, laptops and company mobile phones
  • Oversee our hardware renewal programme
  • Manage Windows backups
  • Support the ongoing development of our ERP system, website, CRM system, phones, CCTV cameras, servers and phone systems
  • Setting up workstations with computers and any necessary devices
  • Checking computer hardware to ensure functionality
  • Installing and configuring appropriate software and functions according to specifications
  • E-mail and password resets
  • Manipulate and analyse data using spreadsheets to provide management reports
  • Maintain user awareness of security matters.

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

GCSE grade C/4+ in English desirable

GCSE grade C/4+ in Maths and ICT essential

 

Preferred Skills

  • Good communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Good problem-solving skills and have an eye for detail
  • Confident using Excel

 

Personal Qualities

  • Passion for IT and all things tech
  • Willing to learn and accepting of change
  • Good at listening and able to follow instructions
  • Comfortable with working in a small team and in taking responsibility
