Employer Description This is a well-established salon, based on Bradshaw Brow (on the edge of Bolton). From our clean and modern salon we provide a full range of hair and beauty treatments for both men and women.
Salary £3.70 per hour / £148 per week Hours Of Work 40 hours per week - Mon + Tue 9:30-5:30pm, Wed closed, Thurs 9:30am-7pm, Fri 9:30am-6pm, Sat 8am-4pm
Position Type Apprentice Age Range 16+
Qualification Hair Professional Level 2 plus Functional Skills if required. This is a one-day college attendance and work-based qualification. Also some college attendance may be required for Functional Skills if needed.


Vacancy Description

We have a great Apprentice Stylist role for you. If you are keen and willing to learn hairdressing skills, this apprenticeship should suit you. The role would be ideal for someone who is interested in the hair and beauty business and has no hairdressing experience, or is part qualified.  As a progressive company we are happy to offer this opportunity under the NEW Apprenticeship Hair Professional Standard

Role and Responsibilities

Your role will include:

  • Shampooing and conditioning clients’ hair
  • Assisting qualified staff to colour, blow-dry and straighten hair
  • Learning to cut hair using a range of technologies to create a variety of looks
  • You will also help provide a reception service - making and taking appointments, plus offering refreshments to clients
  • Keeping the salon clean and tidy including sweeping floors and polishing mirrors 

As your skills improve you will be given more responsibility 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

No experience necessary, full training will be given

  • Adhere to workplace suppliers and manufacturer instructions
  • Safe use of equipment, material and products
  • Meet legal and organisational requirements
  • Maintain clients modesty, privacy and comfort
  • Minimise risks or cross-infection, injury or fatigue
  • You should be able to deal with people in a professional phone manner

  • Polite and professional to clients at all times

  • You must be good time-keeper 

Future Prospects

Subject to completing your apprenticeship successfully, you may be offered a progression to the Advanced level
